The Fuji Apple (Malus pumila ‘Fuji’) is a deciduous tree that delivers a spectacular spring display and produces fruit that is very round, medium to large. The apple is usually green or yellow-green, with red highlights or a pink flush. It may have a speckled or striped pattern on the skin. It is also crisp and juicy, with dull white flesh. They are excellent for eating, baking and cooking. Can be kept refrigerated up 5 to 6 months. Fuji is a late-season apple, often harvested in late September and October. Fuji is not self pollinating. Gala, Golden Delicious, Granny Smith and Jonathan are suitable pollinators.
Fuji apples require 200 to 400 chill hours. This tree grows at a medium rate, with height increases of 13–24" per year. Plant in in well drained, moist loamy soil.
